Creative Editing- What Is It?

My approach to helping writers either start, finish or fix their novel is what I call Creative Editing, a combination of suggestions, critique and actual writing.  Basically when I begin working with a writer on his or her manuscript – something that can and most always is done via email – the writer will send me their first chapter with a synopsis of the work.  I’ll bring the chapter up in a Word document and physically go in and make changes, suggestions and corrections right on the pages then email them back to the writer.

He or she can then either adopt what I’ve done or keep any part of it or none at all and we then move on to the next chapter and the next.  My turn around time is generally the same day or never more than 24 hours after I’ve gotten the manuscript.  I also include at the end of every chapter a summation of my thoughts, questions and ideas for the writer’s review.  This is a Creative process of editing, not line-editing for grammar!  A lot of prose is perfectly written in the English style but dry and lifeless as a corpse.

Creative Editing is a quick and paperless method to advance your novel to its completion.  In addition, if and when phone consultation is necessary, I do this at my expense, no matter where you live in the continental United States.
 

Ghost Writing

A ghost writer is a professional writer who writes for another person and who does not get a byline or credit for his or her writing.  This means that the novel I write for you will be yours entirely including all rights and royalties.  The characters and plot are yours as well.  Ghost Writing can be either a fairly simple and straight-forward or a very involved process.  My fees will depend on your needs, length of book and ultimate estimated time involved.  Please contact me for further information.
